How should we embrace decentralisation?

At the end of the previous article "Will AI replace us?", we briefly discussed how "knowledge" and "skills" will become cheap after the popularization of artificial intelligence, and will bring down the social level threshold and safety net, leaving only the core values. However, the social safety net cannot be pulled down overnight. Before that happens, we humans will inevitably go through a dark period of mutual suspicion, and there will be the most evil crimes during this dark period. Therefore, before explaining why decentralization is an irreversible trend, whether you agree with my point of view or not, you can refer to the following suggestions to protect yourself at least during this dark period:

1. Understand cryptocurrency and make minimal investment attempts

As the cost of committing crimes continues to decrease, centralized systems will inevitably become targets of attack, with banks being the most obvious target. The cost of defending banks will inevitably increase, and due to rising crime rates, government agencies will inevitably impose greater regulatory oversight on banks, reducing the ability of the general public to circulate their own wealth.

Simply put, you do not have absolute power over managing your money. As ordinary citizens, we may also find it increasingly difficult to access larger amounts of money in recent years. Even if the money is yours, you do not have the freedom to move it around or use it as you wish. Even if you want to buy a more expensive car, you have to go through a lot of procedures.

These centralized banking systems are filled with restrictions and have been protected like natural barriers because virtual currencies were not recognized and had no collateral. However, as virtual currencies become more popular, Bitcoin and Ethereum have added collateral, and Ethereum supports smart contracts. You are the only owner of your virtual currency account (unless you tell someone your account password), and no one can lock your account or charge you fees, nor can anyone use hacking techniques to steal your money.

So even if you haven't yet accepted cryptocurrency, I really hope you can at least understand what it is, so that you have a basic concept when the storm comes.

2. Understanding the basic concepts of smart contracts and DAO

DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) is a form of organization based on blockchain technology. It is driven by smart contracts, without a central authority controlling it, and members participate in decision-making and organizational operations by holding tokens or tokens. The operation of the DAO is automatically executed by code and algorithms, ensuring transparency, credibility, and decentralization. Members can propose, vote, share benefits, without relying on traditional organizational intermediaries. The goal of the DAO is to establish a trustless organizational model that promotes decentralized decision-making and resource allocation.

Aside from funding, our biggest concern is undoubtedly our privacy. However, our society is built on the concept of "creditworthiness". The more trustworthy a person is, the higher their earning potential. This is why Ponzi schemes are so common; the more people involved, the more credible the scheme appears.

In my opinion, in the future, our resumes will be presented in the form of smart contracts, and no one will be able to lie about their resumes. Everyone's entire life will be visible to everyone, and every resume will be unchangeable. Everyone should also receive their rightful compensation for their work, without being changed for anyone's selfish reasons.

Perhaps you may feel that my thoughts are far from reality, but how vulnerable is a centralized system? The future of a large company can easily be changed due to one person's health, credibility, or even the words of a country's leader. After these years of epidemic, everyone knows that nothing is eternal, no investment is without risk, no company will not go bankrupt, and no one's words are absolutely correct.

So I strongly believe that DAO is the future of corporate governance; smart contracts will be the future of all business agreements.

3. Confronting one's own fears and discovering one's core values

Decentralization is not based on my belief in how wonderful the world and human nature are. On the contrary, because we have artificial intelligence and everyone is smarter, we will begin to question centralized systems: what the teacher says may be wrong, the app may use our data for other purposes, why we cannot know some truths, etc. We have lived in a world where rules are established by those in power for too long. Even if we feel that some rules are outdated, we choose to turn a blind eye, just like when we were children and some teachers would use their power to impose possibly incorrect ideas on us, and we would just memorize them, hoping that one day we could climb up and become the person who sets the rules.

However, with the advent of artificial intelligence, it seems that none of us can continue to mislead others as easily as before.

To be honest, I am not anti-social. My viewpoint is that:

Only when we realize early on that there is no perfect solution or answer that can remain unchanged forever, can we let go of the obsession to "manage" others.

Since the barriers of skills and knowledge can no longer protect us, we need to recognize our core values more clearly. Each person can only manage themselves, and the systems we used to rely on will lose credibility.

4. Identify the core values of children and let go of the obsession to control them.

With various artificial intelligence technologies, even those of us who only have a laptop and a smart phone can achieve several times higher productivity at home than before. Imagine the enterprises with financial resources and abundant resources, the full automation of production chain, logistics chain, service chain managed by artificial intelligence will definitely be realized, maximizing profits for the enterprises.

Currently, our education system, especially in Asia, is still focused on cultivating skills and knowledge that may not be useful in the new era. All we can do is to let students explore this new world and make them more sensitive to the opportunities and dangers it presents, instead of forcing them to learn things that we believe are useful but could end up limiting their potential.

Because the world they will need to face will be completely different from ours.

5. Recognize and give minimum efforts to various artificial intelligence

No matter how much we like it, we have to accept that jobs that require only Excel and a few languages will inevitably be replaced by artificial intelligence. We can only accept and change. If we don't change, we will be eliminated by the times. This wave of elimination will come at an unexpected speed.
